I'm Spent

Sorry for not blogging yesterday.

And for posting so late tonight.

We've been spending time in the pool.

And for some reason - laying around on a raft for 3 hours makes you completely exhausted. 

JJ's trying to get rid of his tan lines.

See? Having your own pool with a privacy fence has it's advantages.

Wednesday we went to 4 different jewelry stores looking for someone to re-size my great-grandmother's engagement ring. It proved to be harder than I thought.

It's super old, I already knew that.

They did tests and were shocked the diamonds were real.

I already knew that, too.

What they can't tell me for certain, so they say, is what the metal is.

Apparently, it's older than I thought it was.

There are no markings identifying what metal it's made out of. Stamping rings became law in the 1930s, so I was told. So that makes this ring an antique. 

Honestly, I don't care if it is only worth a quarter and was just made yesterday. 

I want it sized because it came from my Granny.

And also because check out the hollow part....

Makes me nervous.

Anyway - they ooh'ed and aah'ed over it, which made me cautious to volunteer it to them to work on.

Then they told me they'd have to send it away via FedEx to have some "specialist" (for lack of a better word) to work on it. To me, that says big $$$

So I'm taking it back home to have it worked on there.

My mom has a guy in Steeleville she highly recommends.

That's good enough for me.
