It's Friday!

We do leftovers for lunch most days.
Yesterday, I got out the alfredo I made the night before and some parmesan. Upon seeing that little green can of goodness, JJ ran to get a paper plate, took his place at the table and insisted he get a mountain of cheese for lunch.

Whatever.

Dear Anyone in the St. Louis Area-
I am so jealous of you right now! It's the Cardinals Home Opener, and I'm stuck out here. I don't even need to be at the game, just to be in the atmosphere - in an area where more than just my household knows how awesome this day is. Someday....sooner rather than later.

I've already put this on my facebook and twitter, but I swear I cannot get enough of it. I remember Game 6 last year we were in the car heading home listening to the game on the radio. My family paused the TV (seriously, thank you DVR. I will never live without you. I'm thankful my children won't have to think back to a time when you had to watch commercials) during the 8th inning since we were so close to being home. We ran inside the house like idiots to resume watching the game. David Freese - you are awesome. My mother said something about "This could go on forever, I'm going to bed." and MISSED the 10th and 11th innings. Can you believe that?!?!

The next evening, my parents threw a huge weenie roast and invited the whole family. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents....we were all there and all jammed into either the garage (where Dad has a giant TV) or the basement to eat our hot dogs and watch the Cardinals win the World Series - it was perfect....and doesn't really feel like that long ago.

Happy Friday!
Happy Home Opener!
